Default Transmission leak?

My 48 with standard trans has a leak where one of the shifter shaft goes in.what is there for a seal or??

There is a seal for those and you can probably get them from Mac Van pelt.

I see they have the seal kits. How big a job to replace the seals on the shifter shafts...........Thanks ....Al

Part # is 01A-7288. I replaced mine about 15 years ago. The hardest part was removing the pin that holds each shift arm in place. Really tight. I think they are swedged in place. I drilled out the pin with a smaller drill, installed the seals and then used fine thread socket head caps screws to reassemble and tightly secure the shift arms in place. Still working fine. You might have better success by grinding off the pin head and using a pin punch to drive out the pin. Make sure transmission is in neutral when you do this and install a new gasket for the side cover.
