Re: 40 Sedan steering
If you've got a Vega bracket the 525 will bolt right up (baring any other items in the area unique to your build). The standard input shaft is about 1.5" longer (based on the one I've got for sale in the Swap section right now).

Re: 40 Sedan steering
Hello DD, A new Borgeson 525 with the short shaft is now installed. We tried a '40 Ford Pitman arm, but it only goes on to the spline shaft part way. Seems like the splined hole in the arm has a taper. Did you modify your Ford Pitman arm to fit the shaft? A GM Pitman arm works, but it is too short and the steering is too slow (but very easy). GD

Re: 40 Sedan steering
I used the 525 with the 40 pitman arm on my 40 sedan I built in the 80's. I also recall that the arm did fit, just not good, There were some magazine article regarding this, but I don't recall the info. On the other hand, I put lots of miles on the sedan with no problems. But today I would be looking for a better solution also.
