If you guys did front disc brakes and used a 67 mustang mc, how and what did you do to fix the door bc the lid is to high?

Re: 40 ford with 67 mustang mc
I have the MC in my '36 5 window. I cut an opening in the floor the size of the MC cap, then welded 3/4" angle iron around the opening and cut a piece of 1/2 plywood and laid inside the angle iron. The carpet padding is the same thickness as the angle iron, so you cut the padding to fit around the assembly and lay the carpet right over the top. A access hole can/will be cut in the carpet. I had floor mats made from the same carpet, so that covers everything. Rod

Re: 40 ford with 67 mustang mc
On my '40, I cut the M/C opening larger to allow better access for a pressure bleeding plate. A shallow steel baking pan was then trimmed to clear the Mustang M/C and welded to flat flange metal. A few sheet metal screws secure it in place. The result is a slight bulge in the floor, hardly noticeable when insulation and carpet are installed.

I have an access door but wanted to know if there was another lid that can replace the 67 lid? I have a universal access door

Re: 40 ford with 67 mustang mc
I made some dies out of plywood and "stamped" out a cover with my press.
I used a E250 master so the cover is a little deeper than normal. Carpet pad will eventually be adjusted to compensate. |

Re: 40 ford with 67 mustang mc
There's an adapter that drops the mc down to Clea the floor nicely if you are using 40 pedal setup ....
