An interesting survival
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1931-Ford-Mo...4e8ce3&vxp=mtr
It looks like it might have been a 31 Cabriolet at one time. I'm guessing the battery was moved to the passenger side and that is what ate out the rear motor mount on that side. Oh well...someone in the neighborhood might go pick it up and haul it away. |

Re: An interesting survival
My uncle GAVE me just about the same vehicle back in 1979. It had been parked in the field and the body rotted away and when we saw it the trees were growing up through it.
"Yup, its a model A" I said. "I'll take it off your hands." A full day it took me to get it unencumbered from the trees, broken down into pieces, and carted off to my shop for examination. We're talking Cape Cod here. Between the humidity, and the exposure, most of that metal was pretty thin. Backing plates had rusted through. Maybe not an issue as the holes might be patched, but backing plates then - as now - are a dime a dozen. The rear axle interior parts might be salvageable, but when you look at the threaded end of the axle sticking out and there is NO threads - you sort of resolve that there are better parts to be found. I kept the front axle. Dunno if I can recover it. Some other parts too. All in all I guess I would count that a wasted day. But my Uncle didn't. He was smiling...trash removed at no expense - and he didn't even have to bend at the waist. Joe K

Re: An interesting survival
I think it was a fordor by those sills. The lower oil pipe is 30-31, isn't it? Plus it doesn't have the right side steering hole. I can't see anybody giving a 900 starting bis.

Re: An interesting survival
It was a late 1930-1931 Coupe. Metal sills with two small holes for the sill pates and a coupe seat riser, late pedals.

Re: An interesting survival
I'd haul it away, if only to get the shocks.
