Original brake lever spring
I ordered many parts for my new T and one of them is the "original" type spring for the brake lever. This is a leaf type spring that is riveted to the brake release handle. The old one was broken but still riveted . I ground down the rivets and I can't understand how this spring fits into the handle. Is it worth using this spring (riveting it back in)? I also ordered a new style coil spring that fits down below where the pawl is. I just thought it would look good with an original spring as well. Does anyone have pictures of how this "original" spring is attached?

I am unsure as to your question about how the original spring is riveted into place. There is only one way it will go on. If you have it upside down, it will lay against the lever and provide no spring action whatsoever. Turn it around, rivet it and it should look right. |
