Question Question on hood

When I was restoring my 1939 Ford Truck, I had two hoods. Unfortunately, I didn't pay close enough attention when I had one painted. When I got ready to install it on my 39, I discovered there was a ridge down the center from the cab end to about the center. The ridge did not match up to my cab. I thus had to get my second hood painted after ensuring there was no ridge. My question is, does anyone have an idea what the ridge hood would be off of? The closing mechanism is the same for both hoods.
Thank you.

The '38/'39 truck hoods were sim except for the latch holes. Don't know what hood would have the same shape but with a ridge line. The car hoods are completely different. Post a photo if you can.

A side note when setting up the front end. Get the hood on first and aligned with the radiator and front grill set. Then do the fenders and side pieces.

Here are pictures of my mystery hood. I don't know what it might fit. Any advice is welcomed. Thanks.

One of the things that I never could understand, is why cars aren't assembled, to determine the fit, before being painted.
