Got a new old stock S-W ammeter. The circuit works but the needle never moves either way. Can I just smack it? Does it need to be jolted or what? Thanks.

sound like N.O.J. instead of N.O.S.! sounds like its been whacked one too many times already.

Don't know about NOS but I bought a new SW 60amp from speedway and it was DOA right out of the box. Unfortunately Stewart Warner quality control has gone way down in recent years
