Moving my project.

Hi fellows, well we have come to the point where we are down sizing but my project is coming with us . I am in need of a trucking co. that will load my collection of parts and my project . We are moving from Long Island NY to Perry Ohio. The project and parts collection will be put into a storage unit until we get settled. Desperately needing help. Oh my project is a AV8T. Long Island is expensive to get to - tolls to cross the GW Bridge & the Throg's Neck Bridge are well over $100.00.

Not much demand to haul out to Long Island - particularly in Winter.

You are better off to try & schedule for Spring or Summer.

Rent a U-Haul,or something similar, the Econoline box truck and the car trailer is a good combo, easy to drive, not that expensive. If you are unable to load or unload your stuff, U-Haul has affiliated labor crews that do an excellent job for a good price also. I have used the package and would do so again.

trulyvintage should I build wooden crates on pallets for shipping? I have a lot of heavy parts.

Are you doing this yourself or are you crating parts for commercial drop shipping?

I will be crating for a shipper. I have never done some thing like this before. Thank you for your advice. jim.t.

I had a similar problem years ago, and a fellow collector told me to build two wooden crates and fasten them to a rolling chassis. I used u-haul also and saved quite a bit by renting an open car hauling trailer. Once all the parts were in the crates and the chassis was chained down we used heavy clear wrap around the whole works and used a heavy duty tarp for weather purposes. Good luck, moving is never easy.

I am tentatively scheduled to haul a DeSoto from my good friend Lou at
Last Chance Garage in Unionville, PA near Philadelphia in about (10) days

Depending on the weather ....

If you can get stuff there - I might be able to help out ....

The DeSoto is going to Indianapolis, IN.

Uship.com a good source I used them when I moved my shop across town and shipped all kinds thing around the country best part is lot of indentation haulers and they will work with you if talk with them
