Default hunt distributor

i run on my 53 flathead a hunt distributor, after five minutes the coil burns!!!
(it's the second one)
need your help

Are you using a ballast resistor? You may want to call the manufacturer.

sounds like to many volts to coil, unless the coil is internally rested you need a resistor in the power line to coil, if 6v's you should have 4 to 41/2 v going to coil, if its 12 v about 9 volts at the coil, in my opinion a ballast resister is the best type to use, it allows full voltage to the coil for a hotter spark, then as it warms up it cuts the voltage down to where its supposed to be
