Default Pictures for Paul Shinn

Howdy Paul, it's Cody Winters, phantom corsair on youtube, you asked to send some pics of my late 31 steel top wide bed truck, well here it is. I don't show the truck, I just drive it and use it as intended. Almost 100% stock, as Ol' Henry didn't make many mistakes when buildin' them. Only deviations are six blade fan, oil filter, thermostat, temp gauge, and a window mounted brake light. I run everything else as it was when new and it hasn't given me any problems. I did remove all the gaskets in the motor and replaced them when I first bought it, and it was well worth it. I don't put anything else in 'em, no turn signals, no alternator, no led lights, no cast drums, no inserts, nothing. all that is unnecessary. I have some really good steel drums so I left 'em, people 'round here know what hand signals mean so no turn signals are needed.

Thanks so much. I try to keep it decent, but it isn't a show car. I just keep it running and make repairs and adjustments as needed

That truck is ON POINT! Very, very nice. Thank you!

Since 82B production numbers for 1931 include both the vinyl top cabs and the metal top Budd cabs, and since vinyl top cabs were made well into 3rd quarter and metal top cabs only made during 4th quarter of 1931, wouldn't it be fair to guess that only about 1/4 of the number of 82-B trucks made in 1931 have metal tops?

There's a couple guys in the comments section challenging me saying 1931 metal top widebed 82-B's aren't at all rare, but plentiful. Always a lot of "experts" in YT comment section. But I'm always learning something new, so it's a question worth asking.

Thanks so much Y'all, If y'all are curious about some details about my truck, here it is. My truck is a 78B Budd Body pickup with the wide-bed. it is a numbers matching truck, I checked the frame. serial number is A4730543. the date of the block stamping is June 22, 1931. I used this neat little gadget to narrow down the day, no idea if accurate, but it is cool. http://modelahouse.com/cgi-bin/enumbers/numdate Since that's the day it was stamped, I like to say ol' Sunny's birthday is June 22. I use old Sunny as my daily and use it like it was intended.

You'll have to tell Ed Tolman to drive his steel top to the next MAFCA board meeting. He and his dad finished it about 6 months ago.

Confused, are we talking about Paul and Tina Shinn of California?

I like the yellow/black contrast. Works well. The truck looks like it went through a time machine from 1931 to present day. I'm sure you are proud of it as you should be. Long live Model A's!
