1940-41 Ford pickup wooden cab mounts.
Hello all. I’m working on a 40 Ford pickup. I was wondering if anyone had drawings or measurements for the wooden cab mounts. I’ve seen lots on the web to buy, but since I’m this far in, I would prefer to make my own. I believe the only years are 40-41 that will work. Thanks.

Re: 1940-41 Ford pickup wooden cab mounts.
FWIW, Ford made a floor design change sometime between the first 1938 and the last 1939. The 1940-41 blocks are the same as the later style.
Functionally, you likely do not need the full timber block Ford used. A short (about 4" front to back) spacer for the #2 and # 3 body bolts with a spacer covering between the # 4 body mount and front bed mount (the front bed mount timbers stack onto a "tail" of the body block" should do the job. Note the #1 cab bolt is direct to frame (except for a single layer of webbing). Last edited by Karl Wescott; 10-02-2022 at 05:36 PM. |

I would like to see the dimensions for the box wood mounts as well, if you come across anything be sure to post it on here.
