Great trip and so glad you documented it for us to enjoy. In fact I'm going to start with your 2010 epic and enjoy them all.

Two things make your Nevada trip especially meaningful to me. My dad bought what could be your very car, new in 1947. He drove this Chicago family in it's maiden voyage went to California over those Lincoln highway roads to explore a move to Modesto. So, sitting in the back seat of what might be your now car, I preceded you. And at 10 I still have memories of those roads, and the California border crossing stations (no wall tho).

Secondly after graduation in 1955 I drove to LA, then Vegas, then returned via high country to Modesto in a 1950 Mercury forerunner to what I now own. On one stretch on either 95 or 395 at constant full throttle (90mph+) for over an hour, I passed 2 cars and one car passed me, a new Olds. Car didn't complain or miss a beat but used 3 quarts of oil on that stretch.

So Henry - thanks for sharing and consider heading a road parade on your next escapade. Meanwhile, I'm going to visit your old photos. TKS AGN

ps OH - hope I didn't overlook it but think we'd all be interested in what you carried in your trunk in preparation for emergencies or the unexpected for both car and human needs (dog too). For those who haven't experienced it, those roads can be terribly lonely and quite ignored my AAA.
