Default inner tube with metal stem, installation question

Hi guys,

i am about to mount four new tires on my A. At the moment it has tubes with rubber stems but i would like to swap them to tubes with metal stems, A-1506-19M, from Snyders. They are out of stock right now but i bought them some months ago. The metal stem is vulcanized into the rubber.

What else do i need to mount them, do they just swap with the rubber stem tubes? Any additional nuts? Should an inner rubber sheet between rim wheel and tube be installed?

If somebody has a photograph or a link, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.... Tom

The metal stem tube should come with the necessary hardware to mount them, but they don't. You must order the bridge washer and the lock nut separately. I think the hardware package has a drawing with the assembly instructions. Bridge washer is keyed to the metal stem and goes against the rubber tube between the tube and the rim. lock nut locks it in place.

what you describe is only relevant for the 'clamp-in' style? Do i also need the bridge washer with the already vulcanized valve stem?

I have used the bridge washer as shown in your photo for all my metal stem tubes.

If you are using your vulcanized stems, you do not need to use a bridge washer or nut. You can simply switch your tubes and then use your rim nut bushings and dust covers. To answer your other question, I would recommend that you do use a rim liner in your rims.
