Why do you need a new Bendix if you are switching to 12 volts? I've switched 4 cars and never touched the Bendix.
In addition, if you are talking about these https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/p...6183&cat=41746, stay clear. They don't belong on a Model A - they don't work properly. IMO, you would be better off to stick with the original style.

On our last Model A National rally, I know of 2 guys who threw one of those in the trash and put on the proper thing. I took mine off a couple of years after putting it on. It had ruined the ring gear which in turn, bent the armature shaft.
That said, 2 years' driving for me might be 25,000 miles. I certainly don't want it to fail when I'm a long way from home.

There are good and bad modern starter drives. I don't want to name names but you may want to buy a couple from different sources and then return the one you don't like. It will be obvious.

I know a lot of folks use the 6 volt starter on 12 volts, but I recommend either buying a 12 volt starter or modifying a 6 volt one by changing out the field windings. The decision is a tradeoff between your cash and technical ability.

The key is US made. Years ago, I got one that was made in India, lasted 10 starts before it broke.

Not defending "Made in India" but where is American quality control? If they are not up to scratch, why accept them and keep selling them?
As for US made, GM and Ford recently ceased production here. GM will not be sold here again apart from a few rebadged cars made in Asia while Ford flog their Mustang. What a POS that was. The Fords designed and made here had a safety rating of 5 stars along with Mercedes, Volvo etc and a considerable towing ability. The Mustang had 2 stars and ZERO towing rating - not even a bicycle rack.
Since then, the Mustang has improved to 3 stars, about the same as the Chinese cars.

... Gosh, you were fortunate. Mine only did 6 starts before breaking!
