Difference between 30 & 31 Radiator Stone Guard

What is the difference between a 1930 and 1931 Radiator Stone Guard
The catalogs list two different P/N's A fellow club member has one and does not know if it is a 30 or 31. We know that it is not a 28-29.

I think the Blue Oval is mounted higher up on the 30 model.

Photo shows 1930 stone guard on a 1931 vehicle.

According to Mac"s catalog , the 30 is 19 W X 30 3/4 L , and the 31 is 19 W X 30 1/2 L , making the 31 a 1/4" shorter . I cant say I would worry about a 1/4" by the time you divide it up top to bottom , but that's just me .

I make these grill inserts but you have to take off your hood and grill shell to install. I have some different materials and sizes shapes.

Thank you all for the feed-back, I will measure the top oval opening and O.A.L. of the guard.

The difference lies in where the oval for the Ford logo is located in the stone guard. The distance from the peak of the radiator shell to the center of the oval differs between the '30 and '31. If the wrong year stone guard is used, the Ford logo on the shell will not be centered in the cut out oval in the stone guard.

the 30s are bright around the emblem and the 31s are painted around the emblem

I bought a STICK on oval to solve the problem ! It was for some??? late model Ford.
