A unusual seasonal problem.
My Model A, another car and a car trailer all fit snugly in one of my barns. The trailer has to go in first, the Model A then sits on the trailer and the other car just fits in between the trailer and the door. As it's a big, old airy barn both cars are covered by dust sheets. Earlier in the week I was in the barn and noticed that the dust sheet covering the Ford had a new covering, bird sh1t. A pair of swallows have nested on one of the beams above the car and will be there for a fair while. There is no space to rearrange the cars so now there is a cardboard box on top of the dust sheet on top of the Ford which is itself on top of the trailer. A simple solution to a mucky problem.

Get a cat to "swallow" the birds.

Now on the other hand at my shop at work I have a nest box just outside the overhead door that a pair of tree swallows come back to every year. They love to line their nest with feathers. The female will fly into my shop and take feathers right out of my hand.

Re: A unusual seasonal problem.
If I leave my garden house door ajar for awhile, the Danged Doves nest in it!!! Then I just let them "do their thing" & block the door open. SEE, I'm not such a "BAD GUY"--At my age, I "try" not to get too EXCITED---LOL

Re: A unusual seasonal problem.
Birds are A PIA around barns, BUT barn swallows eat their weight in bugs. Watch someone mowing a field for hay. The barn swallows aren't admiring the tractor.
Now pigeons are a different story, they are illegal aliens. |
