1952 Ford F6 brake question
hello all,
I recently replaced the entire brake system new lines wheels cylinders master cylinder shoes turned drums. I can get a peddle. I can pump it up and it will hold until I release and then right back to the floor. This is the 3rd master cylinder thinking I must have got 2 bad in a row ( doubtful ). I have bleed over 2 gallons of fluid through it. If I bench bleed the master cylinder it holds until I mount it. Has to be something I am missing. Please help!!! thanks in advance |

Re: 1952 Ford F6 brake question
The F6 should have a brake booster and thats where the residual check valve is. If you
have no booster then the check valve is in the master cylinder. I still think there is a air bubble in there somewhere. Sometimes this will work disconnect batt so stop lights don't come on pump it up put a stick on pedal to the seat and leave it over night. If it does have a booster that's the first you bleed . Could also be a bad booster piston thats blowing by its seals. I too have a F6 same symptoms bad booster= Napa About $180 for a new Bendix may have to redrill holes in the bracket. sam |
