1948 mercury belt line trim.
Where do the bolts go on the belt line trim on a convertible.

The body side trim has clips and studs.
There are eight stud pieces that hold the trim onto the car. What location do the studs go when attaching the trim to the car? Meaning what combination do these studs go to the hood, the cowl, the doors, and the quarter panels? Do each of these locations (hood, cowl, doors, quarter panel) receive one stud each? Or is there some other combination of one location using more than one stud (for example, two on the hood and two on each quarter etc.) These eight studs were included with the clip packages but the supplier did not know. |

Generally the studs go on the leading and/or trailing ends of the moulding if accessible from behind, other wise to the nearest accessible location.
