'59 Ford Custom motor swap
Hi, I've got a '59 custom tudor sedan. Originally 6cyl, ran it the last 10 years with a 390, that motor is finally toast and I'm ready for a motor & tranny swap. Can anyone recommend a later model engine/tranny swap I can do into this vehicle? I don't want to hack her up a lot, but would like to be able to use a motor produced in the last 15 years. --Eric <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |

A 351W would be a logical upgrade. Available and parts are cheap. Doesnt mess up the front end with excess weight. If you are a inches hog then a 429/460 is doable but expect to use custom headers...and upgrade the suspension with HD springs. Its quite a bit heavier than the 390 Either will work with a C6. <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |
