Is the '32 front spring the same as a Model A?

Re: '32 front spring
Presumably you mean will a 32 spring fit into a Model A crossmember? If so, the answer is yes.

Re: '32 front spring
32 spring takes 3/4" dia shackle bushing,Model A takes a 5/8" shackle bushing.

Re: '32 front spring
I have a stock '32 front crossmember. Someone has cut up the spring. I can get a Model A spring. Is it the same ride height and other specs?

Re: '32 front spring
In addition to the spring eye diameter difference, there were 12 leaves in an original '32 front spring and 10 in a Model A front spring. The ride height is approximately the same.

Re: '32 front spring
...and the Model A's are 11/16", not 5/8".
Now if you are talking about an aftermarket "street rod" spring that are typically sold for 28-34 Fords, they are all 3/4 shackle bushing size...so the answer could be MAYBE. |

Re: '32 front spring
What do you guys think of keeping my '32 main leaf and using a Model A spring pack?

Re: '32 front spring
Firerod
That's exactly what I did. I got a NOS 32 front main leaf and used Model A for the rest. Works great |
