Default Al in RI

I have a '50 ford Custom Tudor I'm installing an engine. I put in a new oil pressure sending unit and lower and slightly left is an opening. I have a dumb question:what is that threaded opening for? Can it be plugged? Does a line have to be run from it to where?
I'm running a 4bbl, Fenton headers, Edelbrock heads, and a cam upgrade. Can't wait to get it running and take it around the block.
Thanks for your help.

Hello Al and welcome to the forum.
There may be 2 tappings in that area for oil pressure takeoffs and filters tec. So anything open will need to be plugged. They are 1/4 NPT.

Mart.

Hi Al. Like Mart advised, openings there are for senders and oil filters. If yours had a canister type filter it would have a line from that port. Plugging it will be what you need to do.
