Default 36 5W coupe upholstery

Does anyone have some pictures or info or a web site that shows what the upholstery in the rumble seat looked like, especially the sides of the rumble compartment.
Was the floor carpeted?
Was it open through to the front seat?
I have the Early Ford Clubs book but it doesn't show it at all.

The rumber seat base and back were in a plain simulated leather, no pattern. The sides had fiberboard panels upholstered in the same material to match. The floor has a rubber mat in a pattern similar to the front mat.

The seat back lifted up on two "tee" hinges and was held up with the same bracket used to hold up the trunk in the coupe without the rumble. There was clear access to the rear from the front seat.

If you are working on a correct restoration this will not help. I wanted the car to appear restored while doing something just a little nicer than what Henry did. Henry did not open it to the front seat but I did. I just can't handle the grand kids climbing over the paint to get in.

He did in the 36's. The 35's did not.

This is a stock 36 Five Window Coupe

And this is how I modified my 35 Five Window

Robert1936, here are photos of my 1934 Ford rumble area. I hope they are clear enough for you to see them. This is maybe at least close to the 1936 but I am not sure as I have never seen a 1936 rumble up close.

The passenger side has a trap door sort of deal that locks. I was told it was called a "pistol pocket".

The driver side has an open shelf area.

The floor mat is dirty but in time I will be re-doing the whole car so they should be getting a good cleaning then.

I'm pretty sure '36 didn't have that trap door.

I too wondered about that. It sure looks handy though but maybe better if it were bucket seats that had separate backs. Then you could actually switch places while driving from one passenger compartment to the other. Hmmm... I might have to work on that idea...
