Default '29 Keyed Steering Wheel

Have an original 2-tooth Gemmer steering column for my 29 coupe. It requires a keyed steering wheel. There are plenty of aftermarket wheels available but I need to stay with an original and I need one. My question is is the 29 keyed wheel the same design as the splined wheel or did it take on the 30/31 look since it is keyed. All comments appreciated.

The black keyed '29 steering wheel for the two-tooth steering box looks the same as the splined 1929 black steering wheel, not like the '30-31 flat steering wheel (although that will also fit). If you need an original steering wheel for your '29 two-tooth, you will need to find a keyed black '29 steering wheel. Considering that the two-tooth design was used approximately for only half of 1929, your chances of finding the correct original steering wheel are greatly reduced. Not impossible, just the least likely of the four Model A years.

Finding a real nice original might be a problem.I took one off a car I sold for somebody because the buyer wanted a perfect wheel.Has some age cracks, but it is a perfectly usable wheel.I really don't care for the 7 tooth setup so I figured if I ever fix up another 28 or 29 it will get a 2 tooth with this wheel. If you want perfect it will either be a new wheel or a long search with an expensive price tag on it.
