Holley Rotovance Distributor
Holley made this for 50's OHV Ford V8's.
It was to replace the Loadamtic. My '62 292 had a regular distributor so I missed the fun of fooling with that distributor. This is another tidbit from my handy 1959 How To Hop Up Your Engine booklet. More later.

Why do all your posts seem to indicate there is a picture when there isn't.

Think I see how you got that idea. 'Holley made this' I am referring to the title NOT a picture. That model distributor may have gotten thrown away over the years. It had a system of running vacuum through the distributor shaft. Rotating seals kept vacuum in.Those might have gone bad a lot. It was made pretty quick to replace Loadamatic distributor on '54-57 OHV Ford V8's(Y-Blocks). The other book 'Ignition Systems' has a ton of info in it about dual point distributors and magnetos.Early competitors to Vertex that fell by the wayside over the years.Interesting.

Re: Holley Rotovance Distributor
The flatheads also used Loadamatic except in a single diaphragm form with no centrifugal weights. My 56 Continental has the dual diaphragm version and in 57 they used a Carter carburetor and the combination centrifugal advance and single diaphragm that was used until distributors were eliminated. Holley Rotovance? Never heard of or seen one, I just make do with what I got.

If the day ever comes that you need a carburetor for your '56 Mark II, I have a nice restored one in the Late V8 swap meet section of the Ford Barn. Fully guaranteed and original. Sal |
