31 Coupe roll down rear window
Want to install a roll down RW in my 31 Coupe w/RS. I have or can make up most of the parts, question, is the metal window frame different from a fixed window? I so how does it differ? Anyone got a picture? What problems might I encounter?

The metal window frame is much deeper.

Re: 31 Coupe roll down rear window
There are several differences. The window frame is 1" deeper, the wood around rhe window is 1" deeper. You need a drip tray to collect water that can run down along side the glass. You need the correct window regulator. You must bend down the body flange at the bottom of the window opening and you must move the package tray 1" forward which means the seat travel is 1" less.
Bratton sells a kit to do this, not cheap. I did this job several years ago but I didn't keep any pictures. |

I forgot who gave me these pictures, but the tray on the right is the one I have. I modified a package tray (last 2 pictures) for the roll down window (1" shallower with a spacer below to match the drain pan), but don't need it any more, since I purchased and an original one.
