value on a 34 ford deluxe coupe
Admin. please move if I'm in the wrong section. Thinking real hard on selling my dad's 34. he bought the car in 1962. Car is all original with Henry Ford steel (no reproduction fenders). Engine has been rebuilt which I believe to be a 36 engine, runs very well. I'm trying to get a value on the car . car has been converted to drum brakes off a mid 40's car. I know its hard to price the way it is, but I would like some opnions. You will look long and hard to find a car as solid as this one for a 86 year old car. questions welcomed or call me at 219-512-6966 34 ford (2).jpg

Re: value on a 34 ford deluxe coupe
I would work backwards. What is the car worth finished in a little
better than average shape?? I'm going to use $60,000 Now deduct what it is going to cost to finish it. This depends if you pay to have it done or you do it. A good paint job could cost $10,000 G.M.

Re: value on a 34 ford deluxe coupe
Looks like it has some good solid Sheetmetal including the floor pans. Rumble seat or trunk model?Any missing parts(grille, hood sides, hub caps, etc)? Need any body work? How old are those tires? Does it have the tack strip for the top? Running boards? It's hard to place a value on something without knowing all the parts are there and in what condition.

Re: value on a 34 ford deluxe coupe
I know I'm asking for a lot here without you knowing details. yes, have hood, hood sides, rear fenders, grille, and other parts to help complete car. I won't know everything until i start locating all the parts that my dad had put away in garage. He had since passed away last October. I have my hands full on locating and moving everything from his garage to mine, not sure on everything that he has for the car but the body is all there along with interior pieces . I'll know more in the up coming Months

the needed parts. Your best bet is to go top your local AACA Chapter and hope someone who might have one like yours there can give you a ball park figure. Project cars don't usually bring big money and will bring less in this economy. |

You will be under water if you try to restore it. With today's economy and 25% unemployment doubt you could sell it for any price.

While I don't agree that things are that bad, trying to sell something now is not a good move at all. I would wait at least 6 months.

Re: value on a 34 ford deluxe coupe
FWIW, I just sold a comparable(?) complete (less engine and trans) 33 coupe for $20K.
A lot of variables, though. What is good on yours might have been lacking on mine, and vice-versa. Last edited by hotrodA; 05-14-2020 at 07:22 PM. |

Re: value on a 34 ford deluxe coupe
Bought one just like that with a 21 stud engine and Kelsey Hayes 16's in 1963. Had a radio that worked although it took a long time for the tubes to heat up. Antena in the cloth roof. Would not work when it rained. Ran the heck out of it. Paid 350 for it. A year later I got 375 and thought I hit the jackpot. Who knew

Re: value on a 34 ford deluxe coupe
I hate to say it but this is more likely to get the highest bid from a hot rodder than someone wanting a concourse vehicle. I could be wrong but it seems like they take pristine cars and pay top dollar to completely modify them. This one is already gutted so to speak.

Re: value on a 34 ford deluxe coupe
Ya never know. Some fellow with the no cost is too much, might come come along, I sold a 2 cars where the fellows just whipped out the check book and paid up. One of the buyers had just sold three houses of his. I've a similar 5 window and don't dare mention $20k cause some fellow will buy it. A rough driver '33 sold for $28k and they were fighting over it locally. Newc
