Default 1937 trunk floor

Was there any "sound deadener" on the trunk floor from the factory? It's a standard 37 tudor sedan. Thanks Bruce

It was akin to today's tar paper (roll roofing). The stuff used as an
under-layment for roofing (shingling) your home.
