Mine is a 36 and has the long front seat. I had to make elongated holes just to get the belts through, and than more holes in the flooboard in back for the retaining bolts. terry

terry....To get the belts through WHAT....the floor? Hopefully, and to save YOU from possibly an excruciatingly morbid way to die, you're NOT anchoring your belts to the chassis, are you? Coop

Sorry I wasn't clear about this. The back of the front seat on a fordoor is metal and i had to make slits in it the width of the seat belts in order to pull them through before atachment to the floor. So there a 4 separate slits...2 for each pair of belts

I'm not familiar with the floor structure on a '38, but these are a few pics of the install on my '46 coupe. Not saying this is the best way, but it is what I did.

That's the best way that I know how. Very clean, and SAFE too, especially if the body were ever to become loose from, or separated from the chassis. Coop

Lap belts, or lap and sash? I think you can get by using the seat mount bolts for one of the bottom attachment points, but you'll have to drill for the others. Make sure you have big washers or plates on the underside of the floor for firm mounting
