Default 1928/9 Phaeton seat wood frame

I am restoring a 1928 Phaeton and the front and rear wood seat frame are completely rotted out, therefore is impossibte to use them to take any pattern. Here in Argentina, there is nobody who sells them. Does anyone who have prints or drawings with dimensions?. Thanking you in advance

Have you tried calling Snyders here in the US? They might have the blueprints you need or maybe can help you find just the seat frame wood. The entire wood kit for a Phaeton is expensive (almost $900) if you get it pre-cut. The Snyders number is (330) 549-5313. Keep checking back on this forum every couple of days - most of the time someone has the information you need.

I think the reason nobody has been able to help is that folks in the USA have not seen an Argentine version if a '28-29 Phaeton. They are very rare here in the states. I've only seen a couple in 35-40 years but never worked on one. Below are pics of our domestic version which is primarily steel.

Sorry, only had large pics handy!

My 1928 Phaeton came from Argentina and the wood looks exactly like the pictures Marco was kind enough to post.

Dear Fellows, in the photo, you will see the wood frame I am looking for the drawing, (both: front and rear)

28 phaetons did not have a wood frame on the front or rear seat cushion. The springs were upholstered without a wood frame and the upholstered springs just sit in the metal seat frame. What you have is similar to what a 28/29 coupe used. I know, I have both a 29 phaeton and 28 special coupe. It appears that someone might have installed a wood frame on some 28 phaeton seat spring which is not correct. I guess you could add the wood, but I don't know why - maybe to make the seat and inch higher?

Dear wrndln
Tanks, I Understand the seat cushion goes over the top of the metal seat frame.
Are there some anti Squeak pad or tape between the springs and the metal seat frame?

There was no anti-squeak used in this area. The pics below is my duplicate of the original rear Phaeton cushion. My Roaster has the same design and it makes no sound with the weight of the driver on it.

Verrece, Marco answered your question. Only the upholstered springs sit on the metal frames - front and rear.
