X-31 Engine swap I am in the process of swapping back to the matching number engine in the X-31. I have been running the highly modified G-28 German engine for the past 9 years. Bill Stipe built my G-28 and squeezed 97 horsepower from it on the dyno. It has been a great run using this engine in the highly modified X-31 but the G-28 has developed a tapping /knocking sound at speed that must be inspected. I may fix the noise or not but in any case the G-28 will be sold and the original engine reinstalled. My original engine is slightly warmed and makes 57 Horse power on the dyno. Pass the word, my leftovers will make a great start on your “banger” project. Rainmaker Ron |
