According to the March 1931 Service Letter the gas tank stripe was eliminated on the Victoria Coupe after that date. I have not seen a late 31' Victoria without the gas tank stripe, however, I have not seen that many late '31 Victorias. Has anyone seen an original Victoria without the gas tank stripe? Curious in San Diego.

My April 1931 Steel Back originally had no pin stripe on the cowl tank.

The Indianapolis Branch Service Letter of March 13, 1931 to its dealer’s states that the pin stripe on the cowl tank finish panel is no longer incorporated.

However, this letter may not have been the practice at other branches.

Thanks guys. Since the JS states 30-31 deluxe cars had a pin stripe on the gas tank, I will stripe my Victoria gas tank. I think most judges would consider the Victoria a deluxe car.
