Later flathead intake/generator with older water pumps?
I have a later flathead intake(Eddie Meyer) and generator/bracket, but the motor already has the earlier waterpumps that put the pulley closer to the waterpump mounting flange. I know on the later generator bracket, there is some back-and-forth adjustability.
-Can I use my later intake/gen./bracket with the earlier pumps and move the gen. back so the belt lines up? -If not, can an earlier generator/bracket mount to a later flathead intake? I did a search and couldn't find what I was looking for. Thanks for any info... Adam |

Re: Later flathead intake/generator with older water pumps?
Just done this very thing.
The later generator won't slide back far enough to line up with the earlier waterpumps. You can run a earlier generator on the later manifold but may encounter clearance issues with the carbs/manifold/generator. My setup is a Eddie Meyer manifold, 97's, early style Powergen generator/alternator and a 50" belt. |

You might get an offset generator braket. I got one at Speedway. You can adust the "line up" for the belt back and forth queit a bit. That might fix you up.
