An expression my Dad used quite often, and I use it too. Run across a know it all who talks all the time and he would say, "He's so full of hot air that if you held your hand over his mouth he would fart himself to death."

My Dad said 98 % of Fords are still out on the road. The other 2% made it home to the garage.

My dad ran a billiard parlor (aka pool hall). His favorite saying was "I'll sell you one for the price of two." It's surprising how many bought in to that. LOL

Back in the late '70's my dad was starting to restore the '40 2 dr. sedan he bought back in 1940. He also had a rusted out '66 Galaxie with a 289 and overdrive. When I told him he should put that 289 into the '40 he simply said "Then it wouldn't be a '40 Ford anymore." I thought about that a lot over the years and now that I've inheirited his other '40, I say the same thing to people who think I should put in a Cxxxy, but they don't get it. (Why is it always the same mindless comment: "put a C---y in it"? Brainwashed by the street rod magazines, I guess.)
