Default Rims for tubeless tires...

In the past, there were perennial threads for using tubeless tires on old rims. The two problems were possible leakage at spokes or rivets AND the possibility of a blow out at high force cornering. Later rims have a bead rolled in just inside of the outer bead to deter this type of event. Has anyone tried to replicate that bead by putting a bead of MIG or similar weld there? Doesn't seem like it would be too hard to do?
