1940 Ford bumper jack questions???
What is the shade of green that these jacks came with. Is it the same as the engines were painted?
What years used the same jack? |

Re: 1940 Ford bumper jack questions???
It might depend on if you have an Auscolift or an R&M. I believe the Auscolift is quite a bit lighter green then the engine. I think the base should be black. Kube will know for sure. You could also contact Lin Stacy who is a Ford tool expert and buys and sells them.
It is a very unstable and dangerous jack and I would only use one in the most dire emergency. |

Re: 1940 Ford bumper jack questions???
The Auscolift jack AND base are green. I have NEVER found a suitable match "off the shelf". Lighter than the engine for certain - kind of a Coke bottle green.
Lin had it at one time. The Ryerson-Haynes jack and base were gloss black. Handles were always black, regardless of jack.

Re: 1940 Ford bumper jack questions???
Thanks Mike, I learned something. My base is the wrong color or goes to the other make jack! Come to think of it, I think I have one of each make of jack. I will be sure to match them up. (and also learned what I thought was a M is actually an H)

I try to install them in my restorations for "something different". Yeah, I know, I'm weird.
