Default 1932 Question - Doors

Can some one tell me if the guts of a 1932 Drivers door on a 4 door sedan will innerchange with the drivers door on a 1932 5 Window coupe. I finally found a drivers door for my 32 5 Window coupe but the door is stripped of everything but the actual door. I have a chance to pick up a drivers door for a 4 door. Will this work MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL Tom

Tom, a 4 door is 1/4 inch shorter and 1 inch taller from the belt line to the top on the door. I suppose it could be used with modifications. Merry Christmas!!

It's all what you mean by "guts". If the actual door is a close as "deuce5wndw" says, I'd think you have a pretty good chance.

The door lock and remote control assembly as well as the window regulator from the B160 door will work on your B45.
The garnish mouldings are different and do not interchange.

An excellent guide for determining interchangeable parts between models is the
Body Parts Manual.
It lists many of the mundane parts and includes the body styles by style number each part will fit.
It was reprinted and is probably still available.

I would try googling the question and see what you turn up. Other than that, check vendor catalogs and see what they have listed - perhaps they are the same or what mods can be made to make them work. Not long ago I was able to find a 5-window riser ……

Good luck ……

The 1928-1938 Hardware and Trimming Supplies book is the one that I referenced regarding the door lock assembly, but it was not helpful in showing window regulators for coupe doors. Printed in 1938 it only shows items still in stock at Ford so many parts do not appear.

For regulator verification go to this thread-
https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showt...ight=regulator

There are two regulators that work on front doors for your coupe, the 6 screw horizontal mount style and the 4 screw (not shown in the above thread) smaller and vertically mounted style. Inner door panels were made to accept either one.

Edit: BTW, the image of the door lock/remote control, P/N B-46106-B L.H. gives a dimension of 12 17/32" center to center of the rivets for the connecting link.

Everything from the window opening down is the same on the two inner panels except for the overall width, as noted above. You can use your other door's inner panel as a guide for the proper location of the openings for the window crank mechanism and inside door handle. The complete door lock/latch assembly, window bottom channel, and window regulator assembly are the same for both body types.
