Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons
Very rare 1960 Ford 2 door Ranch Wagon. This was the second last year of 2 door full size wagons from Ford. |

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons
I could be mistaken, but I think 1960 was the last year for 2 door full size wagons in the USA.

I think the discussion is within this thread. Both years were trimmed either as a RANCH WAGON or COURIER (w/ full side glass)

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons
1961 was the last year for the full size Ford 2 door wagons. There were 12,042 of this model made. Where have they all gone? You would expect that more would have survived, but they seem very thin on the ground. |

Thank you Mercman. I stand corrected. True, where have they all gone ? You see the '55 thru '57 types fairly often, but not '58 thru '61. Sal |

Here is the page from the original Sales Brochure for the pair of 1961 Ford Ranch Wagons, the 2 door and 4 door models. |

Here is a 60 badged as COURIER -
Interestingly, the photo was snapped while following a BOLO (BAL PD) ... for oldmics ...

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons
Would someone be good enough to explain the differences between the 1960 Ranch Wagon and the 1960 Courier wagons.
I have looked the sales brochores and cant find any differences. Did one of these ONLY have a front seat? It also seems that in 1961 the Courier namesake was dropped ??? Is this correct. Oldmics - Confused wagon connoisseur ! |

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons
For 1961, Ford dropped the full size Sedan Delivery and replaced it with the compact 1961 Ford Falcon Sedan Delivery. It was not called a Courier. It appears that the 1961 Ford Falcon Sedan Delivery didn't arrive until later in the model year, as it is not included in the original Sales Brochure that only shows the 1961 Ford Falcon Ranchero. Hope that this information helps. |

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons
Neat 1958 Ford Del Rio Ranch Wagon painted the same colour as the illustration in the original Sales Brochure. Only difference are the Hubcaps which are off the 1957 Fords. |

Sorry oldmics, I forgot to respond. The difference(s) was discussed in an earlier post within this thread. 1961 was the last year for the term COURIER.

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons
For 1960 and 1961 FORD COURIER details, go back to Posts # 8 - 74 - 80 - 81 - 92.
The 1961 model had the badging moved to the tailgate whereas the 1960 was on the quarter panel. Makes them harder to ID in photos.

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons
Thanks KT for the info on the post"s.
It still seems undecided if the Courier had a back seat. OR if the front seats were availiable as a one seater or with a second front seat. Interesting times back then. Oldmics |

Most of that exact detail has been dropped from the FINAL ISSUE MPC. One would have to have early issues including BODY/CHASSIS CATALOGS.
