oil weight queston followup
I put a mechanical gauge on and it read over 50# at start up and dropped to 8-10# at medium idle when fully warmed up. when the engine is revved , it goes over 40#. Those numbers seem appropriate with my limited knowledge. Any comments are welcome. Thanks

That’s about what my pressure reads on my car. I’m just gonna keep running like I have been for years..... Mark

Re: oil weight queston followup
I'd be very comfortable with those pressures.

The engines in the helicopters I maintain are adjusted for around 75 psi at 3100 rpm but can go as low as 25 psi at 1450 rpm idle. As long as it indicates some pressure at idle, it's good to go. |
