I've always had good luck with LMC. Not sure if they deal with 1940's.

Agreed - they are manufacturers - not just resellers like others. http://northernclassictrucks.com/1938-41.htm

Do a search. I have done that recently and there is some good stuff buried in this forum. I am also thinking of a complete repro bed as mine is as beat as U of Florida football.

If you are a purist, compare the creases and the sharpness of the ridges to see what best duplicates the original. I believe that Northern Classic trucks best duplicates the original. I know I am happy with mine.

I am going to use one from Northern on my 41 project. They will no longer assemble the bed. Their beds have wood floors, so may not work if you want originality.

All the trucks had wood floors in the bed. The metal was placed on top of the wood. I think Northern classic will supply the metal floor if you want it.
