Exterior handle ID
I have a handle that looks like it might be for a model A of some sort. I took some pictures of it. It has a black insert in the face of the handle. It looks a lot like an AA or CCPU door handle, but I have a CCPU handle and it is not the same as this one - close, but not the same. If anyone can ID it, I would appreciate it. I would like to ID it and sell it, but I don't know what it is used on.

Re: Exterior handle ID
I don't know anything about model T's. I could post the information on the T forum and see if someone there knows what it is. There isn't much activity on the T forum, so I kind of doubt I would get any responses. I was hoping it was for a model A.

Re: Exterior handle ID
1928, 1929 Model A Ford pickup outside door handle. The 1928, 1929 pickup doors were the same as the late Model T doors.

Re: Exterior handle ID
Handles like that are used on Model A roadsters and phaetons according to my parts catalog.

Very similar to the handles on my 29 CCPU. Ford used this style handle on 26-27 Model T and 28-29 Model A CCPU's Alden |

Re: Exterior handle ID
I am attaching are a couple pictures of what I have for my 29 CCPU. Note the ends are more squared off. Both handles have a black insert of some type, but the shapes are different.
J Franklin, I agree the shape is like a roadster and phaeton, but they didn't have the black insert in the handle. I have some original handles for my 29 phaeton and they are the same shape, but no insert in the handles. Rusty Nelson |

Re: Exterior handle ID
It looks like the first picture of handles in area 15 pg 12 of the JS&RG. The application is based on the shaft length. Pg 13 has a similar handle with the black insert but the ends are more square. The only difference is that handle has the black insert.

Re: Exterior handle ID
The first picture in the JS's area 15 pg 12 is open car outside handles that DON'T have a black insert in them.
