Default Rivet hole location in early 29 floorboard

After looking through my pictures and information on floorboards a little closer, I found a floorboard study of the evolution of model A floorboards done by Enrique Klein in 1995. I found that the 2 rivets that secure the metal plates are different than the drawing Steve Watrous made - first picture. His drawing is for mid 29 to the end of production floorboards. I am posting one of the five drawings from the 1995 study. Note that the 2 rivets are somewhat symmetric. I have an early 29 (January 29) that is suppose to have the rivet holes like in the drawing below designated FB2-B. I need the dimensions for the left side rivet hole - i.e. from the front and from the cutout, like the right side has in Steve's drawing. I suspect the front to the rivet hole is the same as the right side 1 11/16", but that is just a guess. Anyone have a floorboard like FB2-B that can measure the left side rivet hole location?
Thanks
Rusty Nelson

Default Re: Rivet hole location in early 29 floorboard

I have a Feb 28, 1929 Business Coupe and I believe the original floor board. I measure the right rivet as being exactly 1.5 inches down from the beveled edge. I used a straight level placed on the board to eliminate any wear on the edge as best I could. The right river was also 1 1/16 from the opening.

The left rivet again I measure exactly 1.5 inches down from the bevel and 2 9/16 from the opening.

I’m attaching a photo, the measurements are to the center of the rivets.
