Default Rebuilt '49-'55 6 volt, 2-brush generator - see photos!

City: Fredericksburg
State: Virginia
Price: $200

For sale
Rebuilt 1949-1955, 2 brush, 6 volt Ford/Mercury V8 generator. $200 plus shipping and insurance from Fredericksburg, Virginia.

I had some extra time over the holidays, so I knocked out another generator. The armature was tested for opens, shorts and grounds. The commutator was serviced and the windings sealed with Glyptal. The field coils were removed, tested, stripped and rewrapped. The body was media blasted and painted. It has a new sealed main bearing, new bushing at the commutator end, new brushes, brush springs, oiler and hardware. Comes with mount.

It has been run on my test stand and puts out about 27-28 amps at 1550 generator RPM.

Check out the photos. I can email a video of it runing on my test stand. Glad to answer questions about it.
Thanks,
Steve

I have others generator cores to rebuild. Or can rebuild yours. Do you have an original survivor car? I can repair or rebuild your generator, keeping the original patina. What do you need?

If anyone is interested, I'm going to the Charlotte auto fair this week and can bring it along.
