I'm loving the enthusiasm! For a while I thought I was the only one who got this excited.

Re: Update Bought the ‘32!!
Pardon my asking but would you think most locking gas caps (I'm thinking Drakes) are vented ?

Re: Update Bought the ‘32!!
I can’t help but to Geek out driving and tinkering with these Old Rigs LOL
RB I can’t answer that question myself it would definitely pay to research it. My new ride has a custom gas tank under the truck. The original is still usable so I may go back to that and would like a Non vented gas cap if it would work on the truck seeing the tank is under the seat. If I can eliminate the stink of gas I’d like to use the original tank. |

Re: Update Bought the ‘32!!
Vintique makes a good reproduction of the original non-vented cap. Likely Michael at thirdgenauto.com has one.

Re: Update Bought the ‘32!!
Well, if no fumes can bypass the filler cap in the cab, the in-cab original tank is vented at the bottom where the fumes can escape and at that point it is a matter of how well the cab is sealed off. There's webbing around the bottom perimeter of the tank, so no fumes there. There are weatherstrips at the bottom of the doors and windlacing on the other three sides sealing those areas and properly sealed floorboards as original eliminates those potential fume entry points. Of course with the windows open at idle there will be fumes no matter where the gas tank is located if it is overfilled.

Lenny,
If you join the EFV8 Club don't forget to also join your Regional Group. The RG in the upper New York State area is likely helping put on the 2024 Eastern Meet. I'm sure you will meet great folks who also belong to the Regional Group. Dave
