A few carbs
I've got a lull in the resto work. I took my early 28 starter to the rebuild shop to install new brushes and the guy took out the end cap oilite bearings and then couldn't get a replacement. I didn't ask him to replace the bearing. He handed it back to me and said "no charge, I couldn't finish it." None listed in Brattons catalog either but found one I think will work. I've taken the parts waiting time to rebuild a few tillys and adjust one zenith. 7 more tillys and 4 zeniths to go. Oh and varnishing the doors on my 36 woodie.
Have lots of tilly parts but floats are pricey. Have 5 or 6 more cores but with expensive parts missing. Can't remember how I got 70 float valves! Have 5 tilly bottoms with stripped drain plugs. Anyone know how to fix one of those? Last edited by mrtexas; 09-07-2015 at 03:09 PM. |

Re: A few carbs
These are the last of several dozen tillys I have restored and sold. I quit selling them when the great recession hit and I couldn't get $100 for one. Tagged ones have been road tested.
Sold the couple dozen zeniths I had after I discovered how easy it is to restore tillys and how much more work it is to restore zeniths. I'm selling out of Model As. Last edited by mrtexas; 09-07-2015 at 09:05 PM. |

Re: A few carbs
Most people spend on warranties and never use them. Why not extra $$$

Re: A few carbs
I give a 30:30 warranty. 30 seconds or 30 feet. I have a satisfaction guarantee however. If you don't like the first one I'll send a second one. Don't like that one return and get your money back. Hadn't noticed the 6 month deal before!
