Default 55 Ford P-UP frame mount power booster

Have this kit installed on my 55 Ford P-UP-- drum brakes front and back ( original)--pedal goes almost to floor not happy with the way it stops-- have 2- # 10 residule valves install-- All new brakes and parts-- I want a full pedal to make it stop--WHAT IS THE PROBLEM--- Thanks

That sounds like a master cylinder problem, or air in the lines. With the correct master cylinder, you don't need to add residual valves. They are built in to the master cylinder. Make sure when the pedal comes back, it releases all the way so the piston can uncover the fill port.

These frame mount power booster kits are Corvette style and the MC does not have internal valves inside-- MUST add either #10 or #2 and proportioning valve depending what application you are using--- took MC off the piston was stuck and no fluid going to the back--ordered NEW one but must have 1'' bore, so will see how that works-- Thanks

Did you bench bleed the master before you installed it? The smaller the bore the more brake pressure you get, try a 7/8 bore. If you get a wilwood 7/8 bore master you don't need the booster.

Make sure the rod from master to pedal is adjusted so there is no excessive play in pedal.

Found problem-- got correct 1" bore mater cylinder and found out power booster was bad, replaced --brakes work great-- thanks for all your HELP--
