Any High Desert Members?
Hey All,
Looking for other High Desert Model A folks to talk shop and help work on each others cars. It's pretty lonely up here, ... Regards Bill |

Work on each others cars ? Why not work on your own car ? (if there is need to). Then you can only blame yourself if somethings is screwed up...

Re: Any High Desert Members?
Oh I'm quite capable of working on my car's but the work goes along a lot faster when there is someone to chin-wag with. Also, you meet new friends with the same interest instead of typing for the rest of your life to faceless people.
About placing blame? If someone screwed up my car, ... it was MY fault for not checking their work, ... It's as simple as that. Regards Bill |

Re: Any High Desert Members?
Bill, just curious, what do you consider the "High Desert"? I think of it as a very big area,i.e: Palmdale to Mojave, California City, Ridgecrest, Barstow, Baker, Kelso, Amboy Twentynine Palms, Yuca Valley, Apple Valley, Victorville, Adalanto. That's a mighty big circle.
I think you might get a better response if you narrowed down to your part of the SoCal Desert. Take care, Ed |

Re: Any High Desert Members?
Hi Ed,
Well to narrow it down, I live in Hesperia, just after you go over the Cajon Pass. Typically the Phelan, Oak Hill's, Hesperia, Victorville, Apple Vally area is called the High Desert. I think because they're next to the 15. Antelope Valley is to the west and Lucerne, Johnson and Yucca Valley's are to the east and all those are called by their names. Regards Bill |

Re: Any High Desert Members?
I have a lot in Hesperia that I need to sell. I guess I'll have to take a ride out there and put up a sign.
My car came from Hesperia. I bought it from a guy in Cerritos Last edited by CarlLaFong; 01-21-2018 at 07:39 PM. |

Bill if I remember right you are in Apple Valley aren’t you? I am in Antelope Valley and have the same problem. No other A guys around. Or model T guys either. After several years I did find one other T guy in town. I found him on the model T Facebook page.

Re: Any High Desert Members?
Their are quite a few Model A guys in your area. I send parts to them all the time. It is often very hard to find other Model A owners in your area , simply because they own the cars, but do not socialize with other Model A guys- only because they often use them very little, or may have been working on them and the cars have never been out of the garage.
Example- I have lived on the same street for 52 years. I have been in the Model A business for 34 years. Because I sell Model A parts , I now know that their are 36 Model A Fords within 8 blocks of my house. I have only ever seen one ever, and none are in any Model A Club, nor do any of those 36 guys know each other. They all love the cars, but use them rarely, and have other hobbys, so they are not aware each other exist. Kinda odd, but it happens. Best way to find other Model A owners locally, is drive the car everywhere. Steve @ Bert’s |
