16" Rims and tires on Model A
I am looking for radial tire recomendations for installing 16" Ford wheels on a 29 Station Wagon. I would like to see what others have had success with in tire sizes and manufactures.

For what it's worth, I believe that radials look completely wrong on Model As, although I read somewhere that Excelsior has come out with a radial that looks like a bias-ply.

Coker makes a 16" steel belt radial ...from an old original type mold. They look great.. are doing a perfect job on my '30 roadster! Don't forget to get the special little gizmo that only coker has for around the stem hole. And, of course, get their 'radial tube' especially made for this tire! I'd post pic..but can't outsmart this new fangled machine!! |

Any thoughts on what the "little gizmo" is or what it does? Those Excelsior Tires look great, and the diameter is similiar to a 21" in the larger sizes. Perfect for the rear where you don't want to lose any distance on the revolutions.

On 2 of my A's I run Dunlop 215/70R/16's tubeless. I really like the way they handle and they are pretty narrow so they don't rub.

I realey dont know what they go for they even have the origonal stainless steal v8 hub caps. What do you gues think is a fair price for a 16 in rim ( I will just say the tires arnt worth putting a value on becouse there old)
