Default 21 stud main bearing help and questions

I'm a new member here, my handle is hotrodjay. This is my 1st post. I have a 37 21 stud flathead v8 (pumps in block). I pulled the pan to clean out the quart of sludge (been sitting for decades). Uppon doing so i pulled the rear main cap because i noticed there was no oil slinger seal in it. The block does have the upper seal obove the crank. Nothing in the rear main cap. I did notice a "68" hand stamp on the cap; I think is 1936 only? Is there no slinger seal for this cap or do i have the wrong one??? I have pictures but how do I post them...lol

On the picture issue it is most like the size is to large. They need to be in the 500K range or less. Click on Go Advanced and then click on paper clip logo and open the manage attachments window. There is a key near the bottom of the widow that like the size limits for different formats.

What you need to do is resize the pics BEFORE you try to upload them.
And if your 37 its the same as the 36 crank, which I think it is,(but Ive been wrong before) I dont think there is a seal in the cap,I have a 36 on my eng stand ,and have just fitted the crank and rods, there is only the half round alloy bit in the block and nothing in the cap.

37 block will have the die cast slinger pieces- both upper and lower.

It will just have the two halves . The 68 stamped I would guess is it's the Prefix to the bearings needed . 68 - 6331

The 37-41 lower slinger seal that is "supposed" to fit my rear main cap does not. That's why I wrote thus post. Therefore, what cap is on my engine? That's my question. I know how it's supposed to go...it just doesn't "go".

Is it a possibility that when they say lower slinger seal, the lower is for the "upper" block portion and the upper seal fits the "lower" main cap? The "lower" seal fits the cap correct? I can't resize my pics on an Android phone as far as i know. I have no computer here.

Maybe I have things backwards, Is the lower seal for block and the upper seal is for the main cap? I just assumed the lower seal is for the cap so that's what I got.

This is the "lower" rear slinger seal I bought for my rear main cap. Says it fits 37-41 engines. It doesn't fit the main cap in the previous pictures that's in my 37 flathead.
