What should be the minimum spring thickness where grinding the divots out of the top of the springs?

I think thats judgement call. I make the angle of the 'divots as shallow as possible and take a good look. I haven't seen many that I thought were ground too much. If one leaf seems too thin then I just make up or use another leaf. Its nice to have old springs or leaves hanging around.
