1954 f100
I am researching my recently inherited 1954 ford f100 and trying to find more information on the engine size? I am pretty sure the truck was manufacture in Windsor, Canada? I am thinking its a 239 cid flathead V8?
VIN#7AE83AFIR14465 Serial#FAE83AHR-14465 ENGINE # C1BA Any information would be helpful. Warren |

Re: 1954 f100
If it is FORD of CANADA, they did use the 239 flat head in 1954. You will also need CANADIAN cataloging to decipher the VIN.
It is best to ask here - https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/index.php

Re: 1954 f100
If it's not a flathead, it still is a 239 (1st year Y Block), at least that is the way they came from the factory.
The F-100's for Canada were Mercury's, the ones destined for U. S. were Fords

Yes, pickups and cars (ford and Merc) made in Canada were still flathead V8's in 1954. USA used the Y-Block 239 in Fords and Y-Block 256 in Mercury.
